We’re in the Endgame, another fun season of the IPL is nearly over as we’ve got 3 remaining teams battling across 2 games for the coveted IPL trophy.
The Playoff games so far have been amazing and if that is anything to go by, we are in for a great set of games to come.
We witnessed vintage Dhoni as the legend managed to finish another game classically to take his side CSK to the finals.
In the Eliminator we saw the end of an era as Virat Kohli’s RCB got knocked out in a last-over thriller against KKR.
The classic match marked Kohli’s last season as RCB captain which will go down in the history books as a memorable reign.
Delhi Capitals v Kolkata Knight Riders
The 2nd qualifier game will feature the table toppers and last year’s runner ups Delhi Capitals who will take on 2-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders.
Delhi Capitals started the season with a crazy win streak and looked unbeatable. The 5-month break broke the momentum for DC who ended up losing a few games in this 2nd half of the tournament.
DC managed to top the table regardless of their poor recent form which shows the dominance they’ve had throughout this season.
DC’s opponent had an opposite season this year as they started poor which saw KKR stand at the bottom of the table at a point this season.
Although KKR found their groove in the second half of this tournament and managed to win 6 out of their last 8 games which have set them up for this shot at winning their 3rd Trophy.
This is an interesting clash, KKR have been on a great run and managed to beat DC in their league stage clash 2 weeks ago. Although DC have lost their last 2 games, they have the big match players in their squad to win this encounter.
Both teams have had an interesting history, KKR have managed to get the better of DC 15-12 in their 28 clashes across all seasons. Both teams have always put up a show and we are in for another classic encounter to come.
Pitch & Weather Report
The iconic Sharjah International Stadium hosts its last game this season in a finalist decider.
The ground has surprised many as it has looked to be tough for the batters. The average first innings score has been 149 here, whereas it is 131 in the 2nd innings.
We think we’re in for a high-pressure game, where the team who can take their chances and play fearless cricket, will manage to score the runs here which will result in a victory.
The toss is key here as if you win the toss, you must bat first, which has resulted in victories more often than not.
DC have managed to find their best XI with the inclusion of Tom Curran, the English bowling all-rounder has added to their already great bowling line-up, and he ensures that they bat deep.
We think regardless of losing their last game DC will stick to the same XI as they played good cricket and ended up on the wrong side in a close encounter against in-form CSK.
KKR have looked better than ever, and we think the Bangladeshi All-rounder Shakib Al-Hasan has strengthened all cores of this team.
KKR have looked clinical in their performances and the only change we think they may consider is the inclusion of paceman Prasidh Krishna for Shivam Mavi.
Although KKR have been in great form winning 6 of their last 8, we think the Capital’s recent skid is causing fans to overlook the firepower of this line-up. We think when the lights shine bright, it is the DC players who will step up and get over the line.
Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant have looked exceptional all season with the bat and Avesh Khan has led the wicket column with the recent assistance of in-form Anrich Nortje.
Both teams have been masters at utilizing the powerplay overs, which means we will witness a lot of boundaries. We are leaning towards the over 22.5 fours spot, which in our opinion is a good play.
