Tough start last week hey? Hopefully for your sake, you weren’t on all our betting tips last week! We had a mare, but we have two new sports traders who have begun their time at Stake with a bang! They’ve talked a big game, but can they ‘walk the walk’ this weekend?
We unfortunately ended the weekend just over 2 units down (2.42 to be exact), but some fresh minds and ideas will hopefully see the tide turn.
This weekend’s set of elite soccer matches has plenty of value to offer!
Manchester United vs AFC Bournemouth – Manchester United to win both halves: YES @ 2.24
The return of the Premier League has seen two different types of fortune for two clubs both fighting for important table positions. The Red Devils have been at their scintillating best, looking like Ole is once again at the wheel! 15 games unbeaten and 11 wins for United, while the Cherries sit 19th on the table fighting for survival. Bournemouth have scored just once since the break conceding seven. United to win easily here.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Arsenal – Both teams to score: YES @ 1.94
Arsenal are desperate to regain their status as a top club, and are fighting for a place in the Europa League. Wolves are chasing an unlikely Champions League berth, something that would be historic for a team that was in the second tier for so long. With plenty to play for and David Luiz likely to allow Wolves to score, we’re tipping a 1-1 nail biter.

Lazio vs AC Milan – Double Chance + Both Teams to Score – Lazio/Draw & Yes @ 2.31
Lazio are one of only two teams with 20+ wins in the league this season (the other being Juventus). They’ve also scored an impressive 66 goals, which leads the league. They will face an AC Milan side desperate to make European football and with Napoli and Roma playing each other this week, now’s as good a chance as any to make up ground. Expect an entertaining contest with plenty of goals.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton – Both teams to score: YES @ 1.70
Expect Spurs to score playing at home, with a response after a bad loss to Sheffield Utd in GW 32. Everton are also in great form, with team morale high. Hard to pick a result here but we’re confident on both teams finding the net and at 1.70, we think this value is way too good to pass up.

Villarreal vs Barcelona – 1×2 Villarreal @ 4.40
Villarreal are potentially the form team of the post Covid era. Winning five and earning a point against Sevilla in their six games, now just three points off the Champions League spots. Barca are struggling, succumbing to three draws in their last four matches, almost surrendering any chance of winning the league.

Celta Vigo vs Real Betis – 1×2 Celta Vigo @ 2.22
Apart from their last outing, Celta Vigo have been playing better than their ladder position suggests. They are on the up, but still need a few results to escape danger. On the other side, Real Betis are quickly becoming a disaster. Their coach was sacked a few days ago, with their president also in dramas off the field. Just one win since the return (against cellar dwellers Espanyol) does not hold Betis in good stead for this fixture.

Newcastle United Vs West Ham United – 1×2 – Newcastle @ 2.70
West Ham did themselves a huge favour in their efforts to beat the drop in their shock 3-2 win against a strong Chelsea side the last time out. However, they’re up against a Newcastle team unbeaten in the last five, coming off a resounding 4-1 away win over Bournemouth. With only the teams currently occupying the bottom three having lost more away matches than the Hammers all season, coupled with Newcastle’s current form the 2.70 on the home team surely represents some value.

Leicester City v Crystal Palace – Double Chance – Draw or Crystal Palace @ 2.18
Leicester have been shaky recently; not only since the restart, but since December – only registering 4 Premier League wins in that time frame. Star striker Jamie Vardy has also been in a goal drought during this period, scoring just two goals. With 1 win in their past 6 games, they’re far from secure in the Champions League places. Meanwhile, Palace are have been solid away from home, with 2 wins and 2 draws in their past 6 away matches. Leicester are prone to lapses in defensive awareness against clubs above and below them on the table. We like Crystal Palace’s chances of securing one or three points here.

FC Heidenheim vs Werder Bremen – 1×2 – Werder Bremen @ 2.02
2004 Bundesliga Champions Werder Bremen rounded out the 2020 season with a 6-1 drubbing of 1. FC Koln. Top flight stalwarts, having finished 11th and 8th in the prior two seasons, they’re primed to secure their place in the Bundesliga for next season. Conversely, Heidenheim lost 3-0 in the last match of their 2. Bundesliga season, and have never played in the Top Flight, having only been formed in 2007.
