FSV Mainz vs Arminia Bielefeld – 1×2 & Total – Mainz & Under 4.5 @ 2.00
Both of these sides have had fairly miserable seasons, with both looking to fight off relegation. They will be hoping to avoid going straight down with Schalke and pick up as many points as possible to avoid the relegation playoff as well. With only seven gameweeks left in the German top flight, we’re confident that a club as historic as Mainz will want to ensure its safety for the 2021/2022 Bundesliga season. A home game against a cellar-dweller such as Arminia could not have been more of a blessing. They should take advantage of this opportunity coming off two straight wins in the league and dispatch of a side who have the second worst goal difference in the league. Furthermore, both sides typically struggle to score so expect the game to be low-scoring with Mainz likely getting up one or two-nil. 1 unit.
Dota 2 ONE Esports Singapore Major – Team Secret vs PSG.LGD – Correct Score 2:0 @ 2.27
In the round-robin group stage, PSG.LGD came in second next to Thunder Predator, who became the biggest revelation of the tourney (so far). Thunder Predator ended up sweeping both EU teams AND PSG.LGD and only dropped 2 maps in the entirety of the group stage. However, their amazing run was halted when they met Team Secret in the 1st round of the upper bracket and ended up losing 0-2. Now PSG.LGD is going against Team Secret on the second round of the upper bracket after sweeping Virtus.pro. Following the natural heirarchy, of course Team Secret would be the favorite and it’s hard to see PSG.LGD taking a map against them. 1 unit.
Bellator 255 – Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Mike Hamel – Asian Total – Under 1.5 @ 1.90
In Bellator’s first event of 2021, Dagestani Usman Nurmagomedov makes his promotional debut, coming in 11-0, 10 of which were finishes. Never bet against a Dagestani to begin with, but a guy like this is sure to hit the ground running and finish the fight early. He trains out of the legendary American Kickboxing Academy, and will have every intention of making a name for himself immediately. Nurmagomedov will surely be a Bellator lightweight title challenger soon, and this weekend he will show you why. If you’ve got other bets over the weekend, you might want to pump them up slightly by throwing Nurmagomedov in as a second leg to win at 1.10, a near certainty. 2 Units.
Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – Handicap (incl. Overtime) – Los Angeles Dodgers -2.5 @ 1.97
The Los Angeles Dodgers are the reigning World Series champions. The Colorado Rockies are a struggling team who have traded away long-time star third baseman Nolan Arenado in the offseason. Here, these two National League teams face off on MLB Opening Day.The Dodgers were the highest scoring team in the MLB last season, scoring 349 runs over the course of the shortened 2020 season. They also hit the most home runs in the league (118) and had the second most total bases (986). Put simply, they’re an offensive juggernaut and it’s not hard to see why as their batting lineup is fantastic and well-rounded – including former MVP Cody Bellinger.Coors Field in Denver has long been known as a very friendly ballpark for hitting in – out of all stadiums last season, it saw the second most runs scored in total. With the Rockies down one of their best weapons and the Dodgers being so potent at the plate, we see a potential blowout. The Dodgers covered this -2.5 line in three out of four matchups in the 2020 season, and had no trouble beating the Rockies in spring training (preseason, we know) by a combined margin of 17 runs in 2 matches. 1.5 units
South Africa vs Pakistan – 1st ODI – Winner (incl. Super Over) – Pakistan @ 2.42
Pakistan arrive in Centurion not having to quarantine the way they did on their last tour, to New Zealand, where they were unable to train for 14 days – a great start to a series in 2021. And South Africa is one country where conditions suit their historically good fast bowlers, which has resulted in a 6-7 win-loss ODI record – they were the first subcontinent side to win an ODI series in the country in 2013-14. Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq both played here in the ODI series of 18/19 and both managed to average 50+ because of similar conditions to their home pitches of Pakistan, with good pace and bounce. Add Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan to that too, whilst not hitting the heights of Babar and Imam in that series, have since gone on to show great form in subsequent series. Other than Kagiso Rabada, they’ll be facing a fairly green bowling attack. This is representative of the inexperienced South Africa team as a whole, including the new skipper Temba Bavuma. This inexperience could be a great leveller for Pakistan, as admittedly the Proteas have a great record at Centurion. But I believe this could go either way and with the market leaning quite heavily towards the home-team, the price for Pakistan seems generous.
Chelsea vs West Brom – 1×2 & Total – Chelsea to win and under 3.5 @ 1.81
The International Break saw some Chelsea players flourish, but a long break indeed means the boys in blue will be very keen to continue their top four charge. They will also buoyed by a favourable Champions League draw – from all accounts, there is a great buzz around the place.Simply, this tip is based around the fact that Chelsea have won 10/13 games under new manager Thomas Tuchel, and all wins have been with a game total under 3.5 goals. 1.82 is a great price here – we cannot see West Brom nabbing a result. 1 unit.
Our community tip for this week comes from user cdot. They have gone with the following.
Baylor Bears vs Houston Cougars – Handicap (incl. Overtime) – Baylor -4.5 @ 1.81
Baylor proved they can play with the best of the best throughout the whole season, playing in one of the best conferences in basketball ( Big 12). Houston hasn’t played a single seeded team yet, ( Cleveland St – 15, Rutgers 10- Syracuse 11 and Oregon State- 12). They were also down 10 with 5 minutes to go against Rutgers and went down the wire with an Oregon State team that’s not on the level of Baylor. They killed Oregon State and Rutgers on the glass but it’s going to be hard against a tough team like Baylor. Plus Baylor plays good perimeter defense. Houston hasn’t played as nearly as hard competition compared to Baylor and I think they grind out a W and cover.
