Tottenham Hotspur vs Sheffield United – 1×2 & Both Teams to Score – Tottenham & No @ 2.04
It’s been a very Spursy week. Jose Mourinho sacked in the aftermath of the European Super League, replaced by 29 year-old retired Spurs player Ryan Mason. A Carabao Cup Final loss, which could’ve gone down in history if they’d won, given the week they’ve endured. With only five game weeks left and European spots up for grabs, Tottenham will look to put the last seven days behind them and exert some frustration. Up steps Sheffield United, who only have pride left to play for now. A win against Brighton last time shouldn’t factor into this game, seeing as the Seagulls thoroughly dominated proceedings following David McGoldrick’s 19th minute goal. Expect Spurs to lay waste to the Blades and keep their European hopes alive, whilst also keeping a crummy frontline that has only yielded 18 goals in 33 matches. 1 unit.
UFC Fight Night – Ion Cuțelaba vs Dustin Jacoby – Winner – Cutelaba @ 1.78
Cutelaba is a deserved favourite here, with his two recent losses coming as unlucky first round knockouts to up and coming soon-to-be-contender Magomed Ankalaev. Cutelaba (5.10) lands more significant strikes per minute than Jacoby (3.68), though at a lesser hit rate. Ion also takes more significant strikes than Dustin, which will make for an interesting match-up as a case of immovable object meets unstoppable force. Each of these guys’ average fight time is fairly short, though Cutelaba’s average fight time of 6:55 – however skewed by recent Ankalaev fights – reflects his knockout capabilities. Look for Ion “The Hulk” Cutelaba to seek to re-establish himself as a potential UFC contender with an early finish. 3 Units.
Chelsea vs Real Madrid – 1×2 – Chelsea @ 2.27
After a first leg which saw Chelsea unlucky not to already have a foot in the final, we think that returning back to Stamford Bridge will be too much for an undermanned Madrid side, who once again will count themselves fortunate to be at 1-1 in the tie. Since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival to London, the Blues have been in near perfect form. We don’t see this stopping as they attempt to make a UCL final, likely setting up an all English affair.2.29 is a good price, despite the fact that Chelsea can indeed draw the match and still qualify. We’re tipping the home side to be too defensively strong. 1 unit.
Brighton Vs Leeds – 1×2 – Leeds @ 3.30
Leeds go into this unbeaten in their last six games, a run which includes draws with Manchester Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea as well as victories over Fulham, Sheffield Utd and Manchester City (the latter all the more impressive since they played well over half the game with ten men). Main creative force Raphinha has been absent from those United and Liverpool draws but should be in line to return against Brighton, as could 30m summer signing Rodrigo. The earlier season criticisms of Leeds being naive defensively seem to have been silenced, with Diego Llorente and Pascal Strujik forming a solid centre back partnership and Kalvin Philips being outstanding in the last few games. Brighton on the other hand are nervously looking over their shoulders at the relegation places in 17th, although they do have a seven point gap over 18th placed Fulham. They’ve won two of the last ten fixtures, with five defeats in that time and last time out they were beaten by lowly Sheffield Utd. The main issue appears to be putting the ball in the back of the net despite the amount of chances they create. Neil Maupay missed a hatful of chances against the Blades and eight goals in thirty one games is hardly prolific for the clubs top scorer. The odds here appear to be pretty perplexing. Leeds are in a good run of form, have won eight times away from home already this season and appear to have their best players coming back for this game. Brighton on the other hand are struggling to score goals, have won two games at home all season and are in poor form at the moment. Take Leeds to win at 3.30.
NFL Draft – 3rd Overall Pick – Justin Fields @ 5.00
This is a bet by power of deduction – Trevor Lawrence is as close to a certainty to go to the Jaguars at pick 1 as possible. Zach Wilson has long been rumoured as the pick headed to the Jets at pick 2 – it’s pick 3 that’s been up in the air for months. Ever since San Francisco traded up from the 12th pick to the 3rd pick, Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has stated that they were trading up for a reason – likely to grab a QB that wouldn’t be there at 12. The 49ers have given up a lot of assets to push for a Super Bowl with their current roster – one that is in need of a talented QB to guide them through. To us, Fields is the clear #3 QB in terms of talent after Lawrence and Wilson – he’s incredibly athletic, very accurate with his throws and has all the tools to be the next great dual-threat QB in the NFL. We’re not convinced that Alabama’s Mac Jones – despite his consistency – is the guy to carry them to the ultimate prize in the NFL. Adam Schefter, one of the NFL’s top reporters, has stated that the gap between Mac Jones (1.30 favourite) being the selection, and other QBs such as Fields (5.00 odds) has narrowed considerably in the past few days. We’ll take a punt on Fields here at big odds in the hope that the 49ers have swayed from their Mac Jones preference. 0.5 units.
CSGO Dreamhack Masters Spring 2021 – Astralis vs Extra Salt – 1st Map – Round Handicap (Incl. Overtime) – Extra Salt +3.5 @ 1.78
I don’t mean to rub (Extra) Salt into the wounds of Astralis, who was dealt a massive blow by losing their star awper dev1ce, I’m just looking at the past performances of each team and it’s undeniable that Extra Salt is in good form and Astralis is not. Along with a number of 1st place finishes, Extra Salt recently got 2nd place in FunSpark ULTI 2020 after losing to BIG 2-3. Now those maps that Extra Salt lost to BIG was unbelievably close with scores of either 13-16 or 14-16. Mind you, this is the BIG that have sweeped their last 2 matchups with Astralis, and this was while dev1ce was playing with them. With their top player gone, bad form, and Extra Salt’s momentum, Astralis might not be able to cover the round handicap in this Best of 1 matchup. 1 unit.
