So last week was an average week for our tips, but we’re fairly confident we can rectify that with our tips this week!
Atalanta vs Paris Saint-Germain – 1×2 & Total – Paris Saint-Germain FC & Over 1.5 @ 2.00
One of the most exciting matches of the Champions League so far, relative newcomers Atalanta will face their greatest challenge to date with their match against French Champions Paris Saint-Germain. The Italians were lethal in front of goal in the league and their goal-scoring exploits has seen them make the final eight when no-one thought it was possible. PSG are fresh off two trophies in a row and are in good form after their league season was cut short. Although Atalanta will not be walkovers, we fully expect Thomas Tuchel’s side to make the final four with a victory that should yield goals from both sides.
Sevilla Vs Manchester Utd – 1×2 Draw @ 3.25
Two of the most in-form teams in Europe go head to head in what is a stellar semi-final match up. Sevilla of course are the Europa League kings of recent years, winning it three times since 2014. They’re currently also 19 games unbeaten and will provide a stern test for the Red Devils. That being said Manchester Utd will go into this with no fear, with them boasting only 1 defeat and 14 wins in the last 19. With that in mind expect an entertaining draw to be played out between these two.
Boston Bruins vs Carolina Hurricanes – 1×2 & Total Boston Bruins & Under 5.5 @ 3.70
Boston had a very strong regular season, however lost all three of their round-robin games. Despite their recent poor form, their overall quality still rings true, with an experienced core and one of the best coaches in the league in Bruce Cassidy. Coming in as favourites to win Game 1, pundits are leaning toward a Boston series win in 6 or 7 games. If they can find their stride, we think the Bruins may even be able to take it in 5 or 6 games, and that tone will certainly be set from the get-go. Rod Brind’Amour’s squad will be looking to clamp down on defence so it is unlikely to be a goal-fest, but a fiercely competitive match is on the cards.
Fremantle Dockers vs Carlton Blues – 1×2 Fremantle @ 2.10
We’re really branching out, so far so that we’ve headed Down Under to the Australian rules football! After a strong win at home against Hawthorn, Fremantle’s young guns are well and truly up and about. While Carlton showed stronger signs whilst playing at Fremantle’s venue just last week against a strong West Coast outfit, it is clear they are lacking confidence. Fremantle in front of their home crowd, while playing an exciting brand of footy, will see the home side get the W at some nice odds.
FC Barcelona v FC Bayern Munich – Double Chance Draw or FC Bayern Munich @ 1.32
Bayern are heavy favourites heading into this one, on fire in all aspects. Having recently won the Bundesliga comfortably after a slow start to the season, and slaughtering The Pensioners 7-1 on aggregate in the Round of 16, Robert Lewandowksi and co are once again tempting the term ‘unstoppable’. Conversely, Barca are having a very poor season by their lofty standards, finishing second in the league, five points behind bitter rivals Real Madrid, and being knocked out of the Copa de Rey in the Quarter-finals, and the Supercopa de Espana in the Semi-finals. This is Barcelona’s last chance for silverware in the 2019-20 season, and with the all-time brilliance within their squad, they are still certainly likely to give Bayern a test, hence the selection of Double Chance. Bayern are in 2013-esque form, and Leo Messi will do everything in his near-divine powers to go through, so this one will be a blockbuster.
World Snooker Championship, O’Sullivan, Ronnie v Selby, Mark – Winner O’Sullivan, Ronnie @ 1.54
There is no snooker without Ronnie O’Sullivan, at the top of the sport for nearly three decades. Mark Selby is no slouch, either. The two men have been ranked World Number One four and six times, respectively. The two Englishmen will be determined to best the other, especially after Ronnie’s recent criticism of the competition, claiming that he “would have to lose an arm and a leg to fall out of the top 50”, calling his peers “so bad”. The Rocket is keen to back up his ultimate trash talk, while the Jester from Leicester will be gunning to pull him down a peg in the Semi-Final. Yesterday, O’Sullivan publicly advised punters to back Mark Selby, suggesting that he doesn’t expect to beat his old foe at the Crucible. This is pure gamesmanship from the maestro, who we tip to win in spectacular fashion.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Toronto Raptors – Handicap Incl. OvertimeToronto Raptors -5.5 @ 1.92
The defending champions Toronto face off against an injury-riddled Sixers outfit as the seeding matches draw nearer to an end. With Ben Simmons out indefinitely, Joel Embiid looking unlikely with an ankle injury and inconsistent play from the remaining starters, it’s difficult to see the Sixers scoring in bunches against Toronto’s sound defense. We expect the fully-healthy Raptors to easily dispatch a Sixers team without it’s best creator and best scorer.
In total, with 7 legs we’ll place a total of 12 units on this, meaning of course, we’ll back them all to win!
