Fulham vs West Ham United – 1×2 – West Ham @ 2.10
- Caelum
It’s been a miserable season back in the top flight for the Cottagers with relegation a very real possibility. Now 8 points away from safety, Scott Parker will need to start getting consistent results if they are any chance of staying up. However, their road to recovery starts against one of the most in form teams in the league this weekend in West Ham. If you were to say at the end of last season that David Moyes would have the Hammers in 5th by the end of January, well… you wouldn’t have said it at all. It’s been a remarkable turnaround and now, European placings are well and truly on the cards. An away trip to Craven Cottage won’t intimidate them, following their convincing 3-1 win over Aston Villa midweek as well as great results on the road against the likes of Leicester City, Leeds, Crystal Palace and of course, that infamous 3-3 draw against Spurs. Back the Hammers to take 3 points again this weekend in spite of what should be a spirited performance from Fulham. 1 unit.
Manchester United FC vs Everton FC – 1×2 & Both Teams to Score – Manchester United FC & No @ 2.65
- PontiacBandit
What a ride the Premier League has been this season. The Red Devils host early high achievers Everton; the visitors will try to reassert themselves in the race to qualify for a European spot next season. Everton were on top of the world to kick off Season 2020/21, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Rodriguez in particularly good form. They have since simmered down, and all eyes are on in-form Manchester United for this one. Coming off a 9-0 victory over Southampton, Ole’s men could be described as ‘in form’ to say the least, and are justifiably heavy favourites coming into this one. Both teams will share a smile in memory of Liverpool’s recent 1-0 loss to 15th-placed Brighton, with whom they also drew 1-1 on Matchday 10; The Seagulls were put away by both United and Everton early in the season. Don’t bet on United to score 9 this time, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see them bag a small handful to go with their probable clean sheet. “Woke up this morning feeling fine, Got Man United on my mind, Ole’s playing the way United should Oh yeh, Something tells me I’m Into something good.” 4 Units.
Aston Villa vs Arsenal – 1×2 – Arsenal @ 2.65
- Dollarscost
We can’t work out the price on this one. Villa have been one of the surprise teams of the season so far, but numerous games in hand have caught up to them and they’re about to play their fifth game in twelve days. Given the lack of depth in Villa’s squad, this has resulted in recent defeats to Burnley and West Ham. In particular, Villa were well beaten by the Hammers on Wednesday and looked fatigued throughout the match. The Gunners have been on a roll recently and sit in 5th place based on results in the past 6 matches. Having put 11 goals past their opponents in this time frame (3rd most in the league) they’ve been dangerous going forward. Villa’s tired defence will be tested by Arsenal here, and first choice defenders Matty Cash and Tyrone Mings both appeared to pick up minor injuries in the West Ham fixture. Despite Bernd Leno missing for Arsenal, we think that they’ll be too strong going forward to not walk away with all three points here. 1 unit.
Newcastle United Vs Southampton – 1×2 – Southampton @ 2.60
- Domh
Two very out of form sides clash this weekend, as Southampton make the long trip up to Newcastle. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side will be desperate to bounce back from their dismal 9-0 thrashing against Manchester United through the week. However, they’ll have to do it with a severely depleted side, with Jan Bednarek and Alexandre Jankewitz both suspended after being sent off in the aforementioned game against Man Utd, adding to a lengthy list of absentee’s out through injury. However, they do welcome in deadline day addition Takumi Minamino from Liverpool, with Hasenhüttl indicating the playmaker will likely play this weekend. Newcastle on the other hand do have Allan Saint Maximin now fit again, and Callum Wilson looks to have rediscovered some of his early season form, bagging a brace against Everton last weekend. Steve Bruce will be desperate for these two to continue to turn up, as the rest of this Newcastle team looks desperately short of quality. Everton are the only team they’ve beaten in their last eleven EPL fixtures and if it wasn’t for some good results early on in the season, coupled with how dire the current EPL bottom three have been, they would currently be occupying one of those relegation places. It’s hard to see past a Southampton result here. Danny Ings and Che Adams are an excellent proposition up front, and with James Ward Prowse pulling the strings in midfield I think Southampton will just have a bit too much quality for a poor Newcastle team. 2 units.
Borna Coric vs Nick Kyrgios – Over 23.5 Total Games @ 1.95
- Jarrod
An interesting contest awaits Melbourne Park on Friday, as two big servers battle it out for a place in the Quarter-Finals, just days before the Aus Open grand slam begins. For this match, we are taking over 23.5 games, as we think a long three setter could be on the cards here. Firstly, and a more obvious statistic, the last three matches between the two players (and three out of their four meetings), have gone to three sets, and have gone over this total games line comfortably. These two players are also quite strong servers, who tend to feast off aces and free points off serve. Kyrgios holds his serve 88% of the time, which is fifth best of any active player. Coric sits at 80%, 35th best of all players, at still a fairly strong rate, ahead of some strong players. It’s also important to note how poor these players are at returning serve. Coric sits at 48th best at breaking serve, at just 20%. Kyrgios on the other hand, breaks serve at just 16%, 80th best of all players. These poor break stats combined with some very strong holding stats, could see several holds of serve, thus leading to a long match and this tip getting up. A two set match would get us over the line here, with even a 7-6 7-5 scoreline getting us in the money. In saying that, three sets should easily get us there. 1 unit.
Los Angeles Lakers vs Denver Nuggets – Winner & Total (inc. Overtime) – Los Angeles Lakers & Under 219.5 @ 2.70
- David
Lakers to win – After their last series in the Western Conference Finals where the Lakers won comfortably 4-1, safe to say that the Lakers has got the Nuggets’ number and are well equipped to stop Nikola Jokic’s squad. Under 219.5 – The last 7 games of the Lakers were all away games and they still managed to hold all their opponents beneath 109 points, stopping the likes of Milwaukee or Boston, which just shows how sound the Laker’s defence is going into this game. I also don’t expect the Lakers to score that much since they are coming home from a 7-game road trip with just one day of rest. 1 unit.
India vs England – 1st Test – Jack Leach – 1st Innings – England Top Bowler @ 3.50
- CBod
India come into the 1st test of the Series riding high from a historic victory, beating Australia at the Gabba in a Test Match for the 1st time since 1988 a couple of weeks ago. Their batting strength in depth after missing some of the worlds best players could result in England spending a considerable time in the field…A look back to the 5 match series in 2016, in the 5th Test at Chennai, India declared at 759/9d at the same ground after 190.4 Overs. Moeen Ali, then Eng. No.1 spinner, bowled 41 of the overs. If you go through the whole series you’ll find a similar pattern, but also that 3 out of the 5 1st innings finished with a spinner being England’s top bowler; the evergreen James Anderson (Market Favourite) only took 4 wickets that series, and Stuart Broad 10. Also consider their amount of overs bowled will be reduced with likely involvement of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes. The best English bowler, and sheer volume of deliveries Leach will bowl, makes a good value bet. 1 unit.
