Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund – 1×2 & Both Teams to Score – Bayern & Yes @ 2.29
- Caelum
If you hadn’t watched much Bundesliga football this season, then you’d take a look at the table, see Bayern on top and think to yourself, “Business as usual”. That has certainly not been the case across the German top flight this season. The Bavarians have had their fair share of competition this season domestically, most recently with lowly Arminia Bielefeld holding them to a 3-3 draw and Eintracht Frankfurt beat them 2-1 only a couple of weeks ago. With Red Bull Leipzig hot on their heels, Bayern will be desperate for some breathing space. However, things don’t get too much easier, with fierce rivals Borussia Dortmund up next this weekend in Der Klassiker. Dortmund haven’t been performing all that well domestically, finding themselves 13 points away from Bayern and in a dogfight for Champions League qualification. We expect they’ll put up a strong fight, in spite of their upcoming UCL Round of 16 match against Sevilla midweek. In saying that, Bayern should be too strong for a side they’ve beaten 4 of the last 5 times, especially at home where they smashed Koln 5-1 last weekend. 1 unit.
Phoenix Suns vs Golden State Warriors – Phoenix Suns -5.5 @ 1.93
- David
We can’t just ignore how good the Phoenix Suns are playing right now. They lost just 2 of their last 10 games, one is a close game with the Hornets and the other, also a close game, but with the stacked Brooklyn Nets. Their current form has now brought them to the 2nd position in the Western Conference behind the Utah Jazz. Tomorrow they’ll take on the Golden State Warriors who they dismantled last January even without all star guard Devin Booker, whose presence will surely tip the scales even further in their favour. Another thing to note is the Suns will be coming from a days rest and will play at home while Steph Curry and the Warriors will first have to deal with Damian Lillard and the Blazers, a rival matchup sure to draw out the fierce competitors in both teams. All these put together, Phoenix Suns to cover seems like a really good pick. 2 units.
Sheffield Utd vs Southampton – Asian Total – Under 2.25 @ 1.87
- Domh
Hardly the glamour tie this weekend, with the two most out of form teams in the EPL coming up against each other. Chris Wilder’s Sheffield Utd will have been encouraged by their scrappy 1-0 win over Aston Villa in their last outing, but that win was their first in five EPL matches with only two goals scored in that period. Scoring goals has been their problem all season, with them bottom of the scoring charts with a paltry 16 goals in 27 matches. They host Southampton who themselves are on a dismal run of form. Since beating Liverpool at the start of the year, they’ve gone on to lose 8 of the next 9, with a solitary point being won at home to Chelsea during a period which also included a 9-0 thrashing against Man Utd. They’ve also found goals hard to come by, scoring a miserly 6 in the last 12 games. There’s unlikely to be many goals in this one, with both teams bang out of form and not scoring at the minute. Under 2.25 looks a decent bet. 2 units.
Arnold Palmer Invitational 2021 – Top 10 Finish — Francesco Molinari @ 3.60
- CBod
8th at PGA West, 10th at Torrey Pines and 8th last time out at his new home club at Riviera Country Club, the Italian Major-winner is upwardly mobile again in the OWGR. This upturn is probably not a coincidence considering it is a Ryder Cup year. With a strong American long-classical golf course record, we know Molinari can mix it with the very best on United States Major Championship golf courses. And his record at Bay Hill is top-class: a win, a top 5 and 2 more top 10s — all makes for a rather obvious current and course form selection. 1.5 units.
Memphis Grizzlies vs Milwaukee Bucks – Winner (incl. Overtime) – Memphis Grizzlies @ 3.00
- Dollarscost
Another value tip here for us, this time coming on the NBA. We’re looking towards the FedExForum where we believe that the visiting Bucks will have their hands full against the Grizzlies – who are being unfairly priced here in our eyes. The Bucks are not the force that we’ve seen in previous seasons, dropping 14 games on the year with Giannis Antetokounmpo playing in all of these losses on the way to a .600 record. They’re absolutely beatable, especially in road games such as this one – when playing on the road, Milwaukee is just 7-9 on the season. They come up against a hungry Grizzlies squad here, who are coming off impressive recent blowout wins of the LA Clippers, Rockets and Wizards. Ja Morant has slightly bumped his game up this season statistically, and this combined with Milwaukee’s average defense against opposition point guards means that he should be able to shoulder decent amount of the offense required to knock off an in-form Giannis, who is coming off an Eastern Conference Player of the Week award. Don’t be afraid to put a unit on this, the price is calling you. 1 unit.
UFC 259 – Jan Blachowicz vs Israel Adesanya – Winner & Exact Rounds – Adesanya & 1 @ 4.60
- PontiacBandit
Israel Adesanya does things differently. This is something of a World-First. Yes, fighters have moved up a division before, and they have even gone up to fight for and win titles. Nobody at this level has gone up a weight class to fight for a belt without actually going up in weight. Experts, including Izzy himself, have tipped him to weigh in at his walk-around weight of around 193. The Polish Punisher, Jan Blachowicz, will no-doubt enter the octagon at least 10 pounds heavier. Some say that Jan has the power and experience to time his fight and take out the Style Bender with one big hit. Perhaps, but we think that’s about the only chance he has, and Izzy won’t give him the opportunity. Adesanya is too fast, too smart, and will be busy landing kicks all over the big man. Don’t forget, Adesanya has fought in kickboxing at 205, so he’s no stranger to putting his feet through big, slow fighters. Blachowicz is old and tired, and doesn’t even have a very good UFC record. Compare the stats – Izzy has more Significant Strikes Landed per Minute, a better Significant Striking Accuracy, less Significant Strikes Absorbed per Minute, a substantially higher Significant Strike Defence (the % of opponents strikes that did not land), a much higher Takedown Defense (the % of opponents TD attempts that did not land), and a significantly better Average Submissions Attempted per 15 minutes. The only metrics where Izzy fares worse are on Takedowns, where he has 0 in both stats due to his fighting style, so it’s basically N/A. Adesanya is the better fighter, there is no question, and we think he’ll sort Jan out in the first round. Punters should also take advantage of our current promotion, as we will triple winnings on eligible bets backing Adesanya to win if (when?) he finishes him! 1 unit.
West Ham vs Leeds United – 1×2 – West Ham @ 2.10
- Jarrod
List of teams to beat West Ham this season: Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea & Newcastle. There’s one outlier here of course, and this Newcastle victory was on the opening day of the season. Since then, the five biggest clubs in the country are the only sides to have beaten the Hammers, which has seen them rightfully placed in fourth as we move into the last third of the season. On home form, only Manchester City have more points than the Hammers, which is quite remarkable given their original early struggle upon their move to the Olympic Stadium. 1 unit.
