Aston Villa vs Everton – 1×2 – Everton @ 2.50
It’s no secret that Aston Villa’s success this season has been tied to the health of their star man, Jack Grealish. He’s been out for Villa’s past 12 Premier League matches, with the team earning just 12 points of a possible 36 in that time frame. Manager Dean Smith has stated that Grealish may return amongst the substitutes for this fixture, but we don’t think the possibility of a cameo appearance will be enough to topple Everton. The Toffees have oddly been far better away from home than at Goodison Park this season – snatching an excellent 36 points in away fixtures compared to just 19 playing at home. Everton travel to Villa Park here, and will come up against a side playing without number 1 striker Ollie Watkins due to suspension and a defence that hasn’t kept a clean sheet in 8 consecutive fixtures. Given this, we like their chances to continue this trend of success away from home. 1.5 units.
Southampton vs Fulham – 1×2 & Total – Southampton & Under 4.5 @ 2.21
It’s been a wild ride for the Saints this season. After being European candidates earlier this calendar year, they now find themselves just escaping relegation. That being said, this side is far superior to those who will be going down to the Championship and should be able to rebound. That could start this weekend with a game against one of the three relegated sides, Fulham. Scott Parker worked miracles to get the Cottagers to the Premier League last season, but their glory was short-lived. With nothing to play for and the despair of a relegation very fresh in their minds, their morale will be down and the Saints should smell blood. Although there’s nothing on the line for them either, they’ll want to protect their home turf and use this as a platform to hopefully challenge for a top half finish in the 2021/2022 season. 1 unit.
DSC Arminia Bielefeld vs TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – 1×2 – Arminia Bielefeld @ 2.70
Arminia Bielefeld face mid-table Hoffenheim as they desperately battle for survival. With four clean sheets in the last seven Bundesliga matches, their solid defending has kept them in contention to stay up. On top of that, the nine points collected from their last six league outings (W2, D3, L1) is their second best six-game period this campaign. Encouragingly, Bielefeld have accumulated a W6, L2 Bundesliga home record against clubs placed ninth or lower and they welcome 11th placed Hoffenheim. The visitors, however, are winless in seven Bundesliga away trips (D4, L3) and only managed 19 goals away all season. With their season being effectively over after securing safety with a home win Vs a historically bad Schalke, plus at least eight players out, incl. their club captain and No1. Goalkeeper, Oliver Baumann, out we cannot see how Hoffenheim are (albeit only slight) favourites. With everything to play for and at the SchücoArena, Arminia can win this. 1.5 units.
Everton Vs Sheffield Utd – 1×2 & Both Teams to Score – Everton & No @ 2.19
It’s an important few days for Everton, with Aston Villa at away followed by Sheffield Utd at home three days later. Two wins from these fixtures will see them firmly in the hunt for a Europa League place and with an away record only bettered by the current top 3 they’ll fancy their chances against Villa. This leads us onto a home fixture against already relegated Sheffield Utd, who look absolutely abject at the moment losing 12 of their last 14 league games and conceding 27 goals in that time. Earlier in the season it was a case of being reasonably difficult to play against but unable to score goals. However that has gone out of the window in the second half of the season and they look well and truly out of fight. Everton’s home form hasn’t been particularly good but they’ll surely relish coming up against a Blades side who have already lost 15 of 17 away games this season, scoring a paltry 7 goals in that time. Everton to win to nil looks a decent bet at 2.19. 2 units.
Brighton & Hove Albion FC vs West Ham United FC – 1×2 – West Ham United FC @ 2.50
Brighton are officially safe from relegation, and sit comfortably in 17th in the league. They really have nothing to play for, so the few so-called ‘good players’ in the squad are unlikely to give their all and risk injury. Conversely, West Ham are on the brink of a fairytale ending to the season, sitting six points behind Chelsea with a game in hand. Here’s where it gets interesting. Chelsea have to play formidable opponents in Leicester City and Aston Villa to round out their season, while West Ham have matches against Brighton, West Brom, and Southampton. If Chelsea were to have a nightmare finish and lose both, West Ham are certainly in with a chance, so they’ll come out guns blazing against the Seagulls. You’d be crazy not to back Jesse Lingard, who has a knack for scoring in Cup Finals. Every match is a Cup Final from here on out for West Ham. 1 unit.
Minnesota Twolves vs Denver Nuggets – Handicap – Denver -5.5 @ 1.86
Denver match up well historically against the Twolves. How well you ask? Well, the Nuggets haven’t lost to the Twolves since April of 2018. A 10 game winning streak, where the last five have gone over this line. This is some pretty outrageous form against one side, especially when you take into account factors such as injuries, resting and the like. With just a few days left in the NBA, there’s only one team with something to play for. Minnesota have the fifth worst record in the NBA with just 22 wins – a very disappointing season for them. Whereas Denver are within a game of finishing in third spot in the Western Conference, which would see them well seeded for another run to the West Finals. There’s only one outcome here in my opinion – a Denver win. But by how much? 1 unit.
