Manchester City vs Chelsea – 1×2 – Manchester City @ 1.90
It’s finally upon us! The UEFA Champions League Final is here and just like 2019, it’s an all-English affair. Newly-crowned Premier League champions Manchester City will face a Chelsea side who have exceeded expectations on the continental stage this season. Thomas Tuchel’s side has had a rollercoaster of a season. They weren’t given a sniff against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16, but here they stand. One win away from their second ever Champions League title. City on the other hand are in their first ever Champions League Final and their second ever European Cup final. Last time out? It was 1969 in the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. They won that, so they’ll be hoping to keep their 100% European Final record intact. Pep Guardiola has been here before, but not with such high stakes. Rumours are circling he will stay in the job, but this game could change everything. With a side desperate for glory, led by Sergio Aguero in his last game for the Cityzens, they are too good to pass up at this price. Kun stated when he signed on for City that he would not leave until they won the Champions League. We expect him to fulfil that prophecy come Saturday. 1 unit.
Brentford FC vs Swansea City – 1×2 – Brentford FC @ 1.92
The most valuable game in football sees Brentford at it again, attempting to do what they couldn’t last season, and what they haven’t been able to do over nine playoff appearances, and that is reach the Premier League. They face a fortunate Swansea, who have won just two of their last seven games – the immediate underdogs based on form. Brentford on the other hand have won five in six, and apart from their away loss at Bournemouth in the playoffs, have not lost since early March when they fell 1-0 to already promoted Norwich at Carrow Road. The Bees were so close last year, and will use the experience gained to ensure the result goes their way, and the way the bookies expect. 1 unit.
Boston Celtics vs. Brooklyn Nets – Handicap (incl. Overtime) – Brooklyn Nets -6.5 @ 1.84
The Celtics are a mess. Their offense is dysfunctional and relies heavily on a few players to make things happen. One of these players, Jaylen Brown, is out for the season. Another, Jayson Tatum, was poked in the eye in the third quarter of Game 2 and was unable to play out the game, with coach Brad Stevens unable to comment on the severity of the injury.Even if Tatum is able to suit up for this contest, the Nets are just far too talented for the Celtics to overcome. With scoring options deep into their bench rotation and three healthy superstars all playing, we expect the trend of easy Nets victories in this series to continue here – even now that this match is back in Boston. We’re anticipating a sweep; the Nets juggernaut will smell blood in the water in Game 3 and handily cover the -6.5 line to put the Celtics on the ropes. 1 unit.
Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers – Winner – Los Angeles Clippers @ 1.74
The Mighty Clippers, led by Playoff P and The Klaw, are down 2-0 to the Mavs who they effectively tanked a bit at the end of the season to match up with. Having lost the first two games at home, this is a must-win to avoid a possible Gentleman’s Sweep, with even a straight 4-0 series looking increasingly likely. It is incredible to think that before the Nets became The Nets, this Clippers team was the one being labelled ‘too good’, ‘unfair’, etc. Below is the ESPN ‘Expert Predictions’ list for this match-up:
Jerry Bembry: Clippers in 6
Nick DePaula: Clippers in 6
Nick Friedell: Clippers in 6
Kirk Goldsberry: Clippers in 7
Tim Legler: Clippers in 6
Zach Lowe: Clippers in 6
Tim MacMahon: Clippers in 7
Bobby Marks: Clippers in 6
Dave McMenamin: Clippers in 5
Monica McNutt: Clippers in 6
Kevin Pelton: Clippers in 6
Omar Raja: Clippers in 7
Jorge Sedano: Clippers in 6
Ramona Shelburne: Clippers in 5
André Snellings: Clippers in 5
Marc J. Spears: Clippers in 6
Royce Young: Mavericks in 7
Ohm Youngmisuk: Clippers in 6
Final tally: Clippers (17), Mavericks (1).Of course, most of those predictions could still come through if the Clippers win four straight or four of the remaining five games, but it’s looking unlikely. However, we expect them to at least put up a fight and take out Game 3.1 Unit.
Sebastian Korda Vs Yoshihito Nishioka – Winner – Nishioka @ 2.85
These two meet for the first time in the quarter finals of ATP Parma, with either player fancying their chances of going all the way in a field that doesn’t look very competitive. Korda prior to this week has had a pretty miserable clay court season, losing in the first round in the Serbian Open, Munich Open and ATP Madrid before falling in the second round of ATP Lyon. Nishioka on the other hand had a decent run in Lyon, dispatching Ugo Humbert and Gael Monfil before falling to second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarters. These two are fairly evenly matched, and Nishioka in better form surely represents value as a 2.70 shot. 1 unit.
Vegas Golden Knights vs Minnesota Wild – Winner (incl. Overtime and Penalties) – Minnnesota Wild @ 2.34
After six games, and two on the bounce for the Wild, we’re all even in this crazy, unpredictable, back-and-forth series. The Reg. season H2H after eight games Vegas won three, Minnesota five, making the current scores, incl. this playoff series, Vegas 6:8 Minnesota. The seventh and deciding game will take place on Friday night in Las Vegas, as the Wild returns to Sin City where they’ve notched up five of their eight victories! Also for the Wild, it will be the fourth Game 7 in franchise history and first since 2014. Minnesota’s record in Game 7s? A perfect 3-0, with all three games having come on the road. Game 7 of any US Sport playoff is going to give the home-team the edge, but 3.15 on 1×2 with all things considered? I suspect that could come in but because of the tight nature of this fixture this season, seeing four of the fourteen matches go to OT, I’ve took the Winner market as a bit of insurance. 1 unit.
