English Premier League – Wolves vs Newcastle – 1&2 and total
Wolves & Under 3.5 goals @ 2.26
Finally! Wolves will look to make it back-to-back wins, showing the quality they possess as they host struggling Newcastle at home.
Raul Jiminez was finally able to get off the mark last week after his horrific injury last season, well deserved and a much needed goal for the Mexican Talisman.
Wolves have only scored the three goals this season, 19th in the league in this regard, so we feel comfortable backing the under 3.5 goal mark as part of this tip.
Newcastle are winless this season and we can’t see this changing any time soon, as their struggles and relegation battle continues under Steve Bruce. 0.5 unit.
NFL – Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Football Team – Winner (incl. Overtime) – Washington Football Team (1.87)
After two weeks of picking good teams to cover sizeable handicaps against bad teams, we’re going back to basics this week and picking a straight up winner.
I see value here; Washington have looked solid for a team with a 1-2 record and have suffered narrow losses to a very talented Chargers outfit, beaten the Giants in a tough divisional matchup and fallen to a Superbowl-fancy in Buffalo last week.
Neither of the losses should be much cause for concern in regard to this matchup against an inferior team in Atlanta.
The theory has been that the Washington offense would struggle after the injury of starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, but backup Taylor Heinicke hasn’t been terrible in his absence given the presence of a good weapons around him.
The Washington defensive line is one to be feared with young stars such as Chase Young, Jonathan Allen and Montez Sweat getting at opposing offenses.
They’ve been called “undisciplined” by some recently, but the sheer talent and athletic ability of this line is likely to be too much for Atlanta’s soggy O-Line.
Whilst Washington are on the road in this matchup, we just don’t have enough confidence in the Falcons on either end of the ball to think they’ll be able to overcome a stronger overall side. 1 unit.
English Premier League – Crystal Palace vs Leicester City – Both Teams to Score – Yes @ 1.79
It’s been an indifferent start to the season for Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace. A string of impressive results against Spurs, West Ham and Brighton have been weighed down by poor losses to Chelsea and Liverpool.
In fairness, no-one would expect them to get results away at Stamford Bridge and Anfield, but the fact remains they sit in a lowly 15th.
They will now host a Leicester City side also out of form. The Foxes have been poor in their last two games especially, with Jamie Vardy saving their blushes in a 2-2 draw against 19th-placed Burnley and a 1-0 loss on Thursday night away at Legia Warsaw.
As was the case in their last European outing, many Leicester stars, namely Vardy, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison were on the bench for the away trip to Poland, with substitute appearances leaving them fresh for the upcoming league match.
They will go into this match as favourites, given their recent run against Palace where they have won three of the last four.
But given their stuttering form, we’ll back Palace to at least find the net once at Selhurst Park, where they haven’t lost to nil since Manchester City beat them in May of last season. 1 unit.
IPL Cricket – Mumbai Indians vs. Delhi Capitals
1st Innings – Quinton de Kock (Mumbai Indians) Total
Over 23.5 runs @ $1.85
Genuine 50/50 clash between these two teams. Last years champions Mumbai are just outside the Top 4, against Delhi Capitals who seem safe for a finals spot already, although are missing Marcus Stoinis through injury.
More confident to back in Quinton De Kock with the bat. Opening batter who has proven he can handle the slightly unpredictable UAE pitches, with his last 3 scores of 27, 24 and 55, this form should see him cover his run line.
He’s also been in smashing form for South Africa just prior to the re-commencement of IPL, recently moving into the Top 10 batsmen in the T20 international rankings, and is gathering steam heading into the T20 World Cup. 1 unit.
English Premier League – Leeds Vs Watford – Anytime Goal Scorer Ismaila Sarr @ 3.60 (1 unit)
Leeds host Watford this weekend in a fixture that both teams will be looking at as an opportunity. Leeds remain winless after six games of the season, with a last minute Michail Antonio goal condemning them to their third defeat last week.
While Watford managed to steady the ship after three straight defeats with an away win at hapless Norwich before a 1-1 home draw with Newcastle the last time out.
Indeed the concern for Bielsa is how many chances West Ham were able to create against his team despite Leeds having the better of the game up until the last 20 minutes.
Ilian Meslier has faced the second highest amount of shots this season, second only to Tim Krul at Norwich, and since their return to the Premier League last year they’ve been renowned for how open they are as a team as a result of the man marking system they employ.
In fairness they do have Diego Llorente back from injury, along with Pascal Strujik who returns from suspension (Although Strujik may not be able to displace Liam Cooper).
Watford Manager Xisco Munoz will be hoping his side can take something from this one, with their next fixture after the international break away at Liverpool. followed by a home game against a decent looking Everton side.
He’ll have pretty much a fully fit squad to choose from, and is likely to name an unchanged side from the one that faced Newcastle with a three pronged attack of Dennis, Josh King and the in-form Ismaila Sarr.
My first thought when looking at this one was to get into the Overs in the Total Goals market, but I think the value lies in Sarr as Anytime Goalscorer.
He’s got four in six already this season, and after Antonio and Salah (both on five goals) has had the most shots out of everyone in the league.
With the way Leeds play they’ll certainly be chances at both ends and Sarr at the moment looks Watford’s most potent goal threat by quite a distance. Back him to bag at a very attractive 3.60. 1 unit.
La Liga – Atletico Madrid v Barcelona – 1X2 Atletico Madrid @ 1.91
- Dom Rae
The big game of the weekend in Spain sees champions Atletico Madrid host Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Barcelona’s financial plight has been well documented and they sunk to a new low in the Champions League this week, getting thumped 3-0 to Benfica in Lisbon.
It seems only a matter of time before Ronald Koeman becomes the fall guy for years of mismanagement and he couldn’t have asked for a tougher assignment this weekend, especially as he will be without attacking options Ousmane Dembele, Sergio Aguero and Martin Braithwaite.
Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann both scored in Atletico’s win over AC Milan in midweek and should line up in a strike force that will haunt the powers that be at the Catalan giants.
Diego Simeone’s men suffered a shock defeat to Alaves last weekend but they have lost just three home games in three years in the league, and hovering just below the even money mark look a good bet to rub further salt into Barca’s wounds.
Back them here in what could be the final act of Ronald Koeman’s time in charge at the Camp Nou. 1 unit.
NFL – Denver Broncos vs Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens -2.5 @ 2.08 — Handicap incl. Overtime
Yes the Denver Broncos are 3-0 to the start of their season, but when them three teams have combined season win-loss of 0-9 is it too soon for them to be a coin-flips chance on the moneyline?
Their injury list is a bit of a horror-show leaving Teddy Bridgewater without a number of their WR group.
The leagues 2nd ranked defence has also been hit by injuries and although it has looked a solid unit we go back to who they’ve played: Giants, Jags & Jets…Lamar Jackson, who has been nothing short of a hero so far this season, will prove a proper test for the under-strength defence.
Although the Ravens have their own injury crisis, mainly at RB, Jackson – the 2019 MVP can do it all! They’re also three-weeks into their crisis and adjusting.
However unlike Denver, they have already proven themselves in difficult circumstances: they’ve beaten reining AFC champions Kansas City; a historic 66yd field-goal to win it against Detroit last week; and an OT loss against an unbeaten Raiders.
The aforementioned moneyline is tempting, but the Ravens could run away with this, so happy to win by -2.5/by a field goal. 1 unit.
CSGO IEM Fall 2021 Europe Heroic vs Astralis Winner – Astralis @ 2.25
Considering this is a BO1 format on LAN, Astralis look to be a bit of value here at 2.25. Although this team has been in a bit of a slump this year, they are still a highly competitive side and generally perform quite well on LAN.
So far they’ve performed well this tournament, beating Movistar Riders and Endpoint. In contrast, Heroic have done well this year, performing well in the ESL Pro League, only losing to Navi in the semi-final.
However, coming into this LAN tournament, they’ve looked a little shaky, losing to Sinners 12:16 in their last match. Overall, Astralis seem like a great price at 2.25. 1 unit
English Premier League – Liverpool Vs Man City 1×2 – Draw @ 3.55
1 vs. 2 in this hotly anticipated contest between two teams i can’t separate. Liverpool are unbeaten this season and have home ground advantage, yet Man City still come into this as favourites off the back of a 1-0 victory away at Chelsea.
While neither manager are known for settling for a draw, I am finding it hard to pick a winner in this match and I think the 3.55 for a draw is good value here. 1.5 units.
CSGO IEM Fall – mousesports vs Aura 1st Map – Total Rounds (Incl. Overtime) Under 24.5 @ 1.94
Aura, a basically unknown Swedish team, managed to qualify for the group stage of IEM Fall, taking down the likes of Finest, Izako Boars, and LDLC along the way. From being ranked #265 in HLTV 4 months ago, they are now ranked #77 and will get the taste of competing with tier 1 teams.
As much as I’d like to support their Cinderella story, they were in for a rude awakening as G2 dumpstered them, letting them win only 1 round the entire map on their first outing.
Now they’re taking on mousesports, a consistent top 20 team that is able to go toe-to-toe with G2 or any other top tier teams. I’m expecting a one sided match here hence the unders. 0.5 unit.
This week’s Community Tip comes from sAik1 who has chosen the following.
Seria A – Atalanta v Milan – Both Teams to Score + Over 2.5 goals @ 1.91
Atalanta and Milan are two teams that excel in the field with mastery. Both teams have important parts in the defensive and offensive sectors, which have shown positive results in recent games.
I see the “both teams score + over 2.5 goals” bet with a lot of value for this match, because Calcio Serie A’s statistical goal rating has been the highest among all other European championships, adding the fact that teams like to play forward, without fear of losing the game.
