Four EPL Matchweeks in, and it seems that if pundits could change their tune on their champions, top four layout and even the relegation heap, they probably would!
Who would have said Cristiano Ronaldo was going to pop up again in the Premier League? Did we expect Manchester City to not sign a striker? On the other side of the table, Brentford have seemed to hit the ground running, only a last minute goal stopping them from being one of a few unbeaten sides after four games – a team who seemed everyone’s fancy to go down just a month ago.
But with Matchweek 5 looming, there’s a few bets we think our punters might be able to make the most of, some of which, at some value! Right, let’s get to it.
Newcastle vs Leeds – Over 2.5 goals
Are either of these sides going to defend? Two of the worst four goal differences come up against each other to kick off the weekend, in a fixture where we can see goals! Leeds have conceded 11 in their first four, and Newcastle 12!
That is 23 goals in 8 games combined, and is reflective of their league positions. We will allow for some Leeds excuses, who have had a relatively hard run, facing Manchester United, Everton and Liverpool.
Newcastle would have hoped for better than a one point return, facing Southampton, Aston Villa and West Ham in their opening four.
The two EPL fixtures between these two sides last season both would have seen this bet land, with 10 goals between them, including one 5-2 game which saw Leeds come out on top.
We expect Leeds certainly to get a result here, but it would not surprise us one bit to see goals flying in left, right and centre. We think this is our best bet of the week.
Selection: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.65
Wolves to beat Brentford
Now we spoke at the start of this article about how surprising Brentford have been this season, and actually have four points after four games, form that will ensure they stay in the EPL for another season!
But this game is more about Wolves getting their act together, something they seemed to do last weekend against Watford. Wolves, despite losing their first three, only conceded three goals, against some good sides too in Manchester United, Leicester and Tottenham.
These games saw Wolves have chance after chance, they really played their part in these games, with us not being surprised if they had 4-6 points after the first three EPL matchweeks.
This price at home seems very big, in front of the home fans, with a seasoned squad and a necessity to improve, I can see Wolves shutting out Brentford who have scored just once in 270 minutes, on their way to a second straight victory.
Remember that if Wolves score in the first 15 minutes, they’ll be paid out as a winner, just like that!

Watford to beat Norwich City
Now, we promise there is no bias here towards our boys! These two sides only have the three points between them, we know. Watford dominated Matchweek 1 against Aston Villa, and unfortunately have been unable to take it forward into their following three games, but have well and truly played quite well in almost all of their losses.
A narrow loss to Spurs in a game where they had chances was viewed as an opportunity missed, as well as their most recent loss to Wolves, where an unfortunate own goal changed the game completely, giving Wolves their first win of the season.
Norwich on the other hand may have had one of the hardest runs to date, playing Manchester City, Liverpool. Leicester and Arsenal thus far this season. 0 points, 1 goal scored and 11 conceded isn’t actually too unexpected, but they haven’t been playing awfully well, it must be said.
The tide will turn as their fixtures do the same, but it seems as if Norwich have not learnt from their previous mistakes made in the Premier League just two seasons ago, where they are too easy to play against and too easy to create chances against.
Yes, they play good football and pass the ball around smoothly, but Teemu Pukki is still yet to prove himself at the level over a full season, and we can see Watford’s depth and pace in attack creating enough chances to net a goal or two in this game.
Why are we also tipping this selection? If Watford score the first goal, you get paid out as a winner, simple as that. Make use of a big Watford price!
