December is finally here and we are counting down the days until Christmas.
After a sluggish November with our top plays, we are expecting to bounce back and make sure our readers have some extra coin in their pocket for the holiday season.
With less than four weeks before Christmas, we are hoping to get on quite the roll to make the holidays merrier!
If this is your first time reading our Weekly Preview, we offer a five-day slate of predictions starting from Thursday and ending on Monday.
This covers the NFL Thursday Night Football, a Friday college football game, a Saturday college football game, a Sunday NFL game and finally the Monday Night Football Game to end the week!
With that said, let’s get into the winners for the week!
NFL – Dallas Cowboys @ New Orleans Saints
Thursday Night Football features two teams that are desperate for a win.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a disappointing overtime loss on Thanksgiving to the Raiders.
While their offense played well, their defence gave up over 500 yards. Luckily for them, their defence gets to face a New Orleans Saints team that only put up 190 yards at home against the Buffalo Bills last week.
Although the Cowboys still have a comfortable lead in the NFC East, this will be their first of three straight road games.
Losers of three out of their last four, the Cowboys need to get back to their winning ways. On the other side of the ball, the New Orleans Saints are a disaster.
Since Jameis Winston’s injury, the Saints have been atrocious offensively. Losers of their last four, the Saints are a team depleted with injuries.
As hard as it is to lay points on the road in Primetime, we expect the Covid-stricken Dallas Cowboys to get the job done in New Orleans.
With a banged up Alvin Kamara, we can’t imagine a situation where the Saints can keep up with the high octane Dallas offense.
Expect the Saints defence to wear down late in the 3rd quarter and the Cowboys to not only win but cover the 4 point spread in New Orleans.
Selection: Dallas Cowboys -4 @ 1.91
College Football – Oregon Ducks @ Utah Utes
Welcome to a rematch of the 2019 PAC-12 Championship game.
Two years ago, the Ducks spoiled the Utes chances of the College Football Playoff by destroying them in Santa Clara.
The Utes didn’t forget as they crushed the Ducks dreams of the College Football Playoff two weeks ago with a 38-7 beatdown.
While it’s never easy to beat the same team twice in a year, we believe that Utah is trending in the right direction.
Winners of five in a row, the Utes are playing great football on both sides of the ball.
Although this game is being played on a neutral field in Las Vegas, the Ducks could not do anything offensively two weeks ago against the Utes defence.
While we expect this game to be closer this time around, we still believe the Utes will come out victoriously.
With a combination of both passing and rushing, the Utes should be able to move the ball against this Oregon defence.
Expect the Utes to come out as the hungrier team as the Ducks dreams of playing in the College Football Championship were crushed two weeks ago.
Take the Utes and expect them not only to win but to cover the 2.5 point spread.
Selection: Utah Utes -2.5 @ 1.86
College Football – Pittsburgh Panthers @ Wake Forest Demon Deacons
The ACC Championship game features two teams that you would not expect. While Clemson, Miami, Virginia Tech and Florida State were all struggling throughout the year, the Pittsburgh Panthers and Wake Forest Demon Deacons were quietly playing great football.
Once 8-0, the Demon Deacons faltered down the stretch and closed the year 2-2. Though still impressive, we believe the #16 Demon Deacons are a tad overrated.
The main problem with Wake Forest is that they can’t play any defence.
Unfortunately for them, this will be a huge problem as the Pittsburgh Panthers have a very talented quarterback in Kenny Pickett.
Pickett is closing out his senior year in dramatic fashion. With over 4,000 passing yard and 40 touchdowns, Kenny Pickett is skyrocketing up the NFL draft board.
We believe that Pickett will be ready to play on Primetime television and will have a game for the ages. Don’t be shocked if Kenny throws 5 or 6 touchdowns this game.
Pittsburgh should be able to dominate on offense and play enough defence to easily win this game. Expect a double digit victory for the Panthers here and feel very confident laying the 2.5 points.
Selection: Pittsburgh Panthers -2.5 @ 1.86
NFL – Jacksonville Jaguars @ Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams went from the darlings of the NFC to one of the biggest disappointments. Losers of three in a row, the Rams had a terrible November.
Luckily for them, it’s a new month and they have the Jacksonville Jaguars on slate.
While the Jaguars have played better in the month of November, they are still on a three game losing streak.
Trevor Lawrence has shown flashes of greatness, but his nine touchdowns to 10 interception ratio is something he will definitely need to work on.
The Rams defence will be able to disguise their coverages and blitz packages and should be able to have a field day against him.
We expect a terrible game out of Lawrence with multiple turnovers.
On the contrary, Matthew Stafford has thrown five interceptions in his last three games.
Expect him to be a lot more polished against a Jaguars secondary that isn’t great. Sometimes coming home is all a team needs to get back to winning.
Although it is never easy to lay a 12.5 point spread in the NFL, this is a perfect storm for the Los Angeles Rams.
They are desperate for a win and we are expecting an absolute blowout here in Los Angeles.
Selection: Los Angeles Rams -12.5 @ 1.91
NFL – New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills
Are you ready for some Monday Night Football?
We have quite the treat on Monday Night when the AFC East leading Patriots head into Buffalo to face a hungry Bills team. Winners of 6 in a row, the Patriots look unstoppable.
Their defence is playing lights out and Mac Jones looks like a veteran on the field.
The Patriots are getting a ton of hype from the media and people are now picking them as the team to come out of the AFC.
Unfortunately for them, it’s still early December and there is a lot of football to be played.
We are expecting the Buffalo Bills to come out and finally live up to their expectations. Since destroying the Chiefs and starting the season 4-1, the Bills have not been able to win two games in a row.
They look amazing one week and then terrible the next. We finally expect Josh Allen and the Bills to string together two quality games.
The Bills defence should be able to contain Mac Jones and as long as Josh Allen protects the ball, the Bills should come out with a win on Monday Night.
We expect a hard fought defensive battle with Buffalo making enough stops to not only win but cover the 2.5 point spread.
If Buffalo wants to win the AFC East and prove that they are the team to beat in the AFC, they need to win this game. Expect the Buffalo faithful to be extremely loud and Mac Jones and the Patriots to come up a bit short on Monday Night.
So there you have it. Five favourites in five days. Although we are running out of time, we still have confidence that our multi will hit before the season is over.
This week, the multi plays close to 24-1. Why not give it a try with us? Best of luck!
