Dateline Houston, fight fans we are back for a stacked PPV this week with some scraps which cannot be missed. Bon Gamin will look to become the next undefeated man to hold UFC gold, but his journey will go through Houston’s homeboy The Black Beast. The two Brazilian veterans are going to war, we cannot remember the last time Aldo or Munhoz were involved in a boring fight. These fights are amazing, and we cannot wait for them to play out, so as always let’s dive right in!
Michael Chiesa vs Vicente Luque
The UFC’s Welterweight division has been more stacked than ever and the confusion for who gets a shot at gold has made things intriguing. This top 6 battle will clear the picture for the division and set one of these warriors for a title eliminating or potential title shot. The Maverick’s impressive wrestling ability will be tested by The Silent Assassin this week when the cage is locked.
Michael “Maverick” Chiesa has been one of the most underrated wrestlers and grinders in the UFC. He has proven time and again that his ability to bite down on the mouthpiece and come out on top is second to none.
Chiesa has gathered win streaks at multiple points in his career but none impressive than his current 4 fight win streak which has seen him defeat 3 former champions. Chiesa is an expert at exhausting his opponents and looking for the submission when he gets them on the mat. He has shared the Octagon with the best in the business and this week will be another day at the office where he gets to prove why he is the best at what he does.
The Silent Assassin stays true to his name by staying silent while he assassinates his opponents in the Octagon. Vicente Luque has been one of the most entertaining fighters we have ever seen in the UFC. Luque has finished 12 out of his 13 wins in the UFC including 8 knockouts and 4 submissions.
Luque is one of the most well-rounded fighters with impressive boxing and threatening BJJ game when the fight hits the mat, he is a fighter who is dangerous wherever the fight goes. 4 Fight of the night and 3 performance of the night accolades prove why he is a fan favorite. Luque has had an impressive run at Welterweight and an impressive win over the Maverick should get his name floated around in the title shot conversation.
This is a big fight for the division and both of these men have a point to prove this weekend which can change their careers. The pathway to victory for Chiesa is taking this fight to the mat and controlling the dangerous Luque there. Chiesa will have to play it safer with a threatening finisher like Luque, but Chiesa is an expert at grinding out a decision.
Contrarily, we believe Luque is a nightmare matchup for anyone in the division and he can beat anyone on his day. The pathway to victory for Luque is more open as he will primarily look to keep this on the feet being the superior striker. Although Luque will threaten submissions off his back if Chiesa does manage to get him on the ground. Ultimately, we are leaning towards the slight favorite in The Silent Assassin and believe he will be able to get a late finish here.
Prediction – Vicente Luque by Knockout

José Aldo vs Pedro Munhoz
Some changes in recent events have given this fight the well-deserved Co-main event spot at this PPV. This is a great fight between two veterans of this sport, meeting at the perfect time of their careers where they are at their hungriest. The King of Rio wants another title shot before he hangs the gloves, but his road will go through his fellow Brazilian opponent in The Young Punisher.
The former champion José Aldo is ready to capitalize on his recent victory and make a case for another shot at Bantamweight gold. Aldo was once the most feared champion in UFC history with 15 straight wins across WEC and UFC including 10 title fight wins. Aldo’s heroics have set him for a spot in the hall of fame, but the King of Rio envisions retiring with the belt wrapped around him.
Aldo has had a recent skid on his otherwise impressive record, but he would love to redeem himself before it is all said and done. Aldo is an impressive striker with immense knockout strength and a decent BJJ game to lean on when required. Aldo will look to make it 30 career wins as he makes his 37th walk to the Octagon this weekend.
Pedro Munhoz has been an exciting and underrated fighter since he made his Octagon debut in 2014. The Young Punisher has been an exceptionally well-rounded fighter with a diverse game based around his impressive submission game and strong kickboxing on the feet.
Munhoz has always given his all even in defeat, he has seen the scorecards in all his losses which proves his ability to grind. He has an impressive 68% finish rate involving 5 knockouts and 8 submissions. Munhoz has always strived for that title shot and this fight provides a perfect opportunity to make a case for one.
This is a tough fight to call considering the well-rounded acumen of both men and their ability to scrap. Aldo will use his leg kicks and strong body shots looking to slow down the movement of Munhoz. Aldo often uses his clinch game effectively as he does some of his best work in the clinch.
Contrarily Munhoz will look for leg kicks of his own and look to get Aldo to the mat as he has a more threatening submission game. This fight could be a nightmare for the judges to score as both men are as tough as they come. Ultimately, we are picking the underdog here in Munhoz who should be able to outpace the former champ to get the nod from the judges.
Prediction- Pedro Munhoz by Decision
Stake Odds- 3.30 (Odds are Subject to Change*)
Derrick Lewis vs Ciryl Gane
Main event time, a controversial fight that was put together due to the current King Francis Ngannou being unable to defend his thrown. Well, controversy is famous for making good fights and this main event will serve as a prime example. Houston’s favorite The Black Beast and the gifted French striker Bon Gamin’ will come out blazing to get their hands on UFC gold this weekend.
Derrick Lewis became the most feared knockout artist in UFC history when he gained the no.1 position for most knockouts in UFC history. Lewis has enamoured fight fans with multiple unexpected and wild comeback knockouts. Lewis has proved that he can never be counted out from a fight because he possesses flashy one-punch knockout power.
Lewis has had 20 career knockouts out of which 12 have been in the UFC against top fighters like Curtis Blaydes, Alexander Volkov, and Travis Browne, etc. Derrick Lewis will have to put his power to the test again as he enters as an underdog against the talented Ciryl Gane.
Ciryl Gane has proved to be one of the most technical strikers in the UFC Heavyweight division. With an unbelievably impressive 9-0 MMA record, 2 years into his UFC career Bon Gamin’ has been able to set himself up for a shot at gold. Gane is a patient striker who paces himself well and never forces the finish.
He has had 6 finishes in his short 9 fight career, but he believes he is at his best when patient. Gane will look to set himself up for a shot at undisputed gold once he gets his hand raised this weekend against The Black Beast.
This is a dangerous fight for both men as they both are equipped with brutal finishing ability. The pathway for Derrick Lewis is clear, he picks his shots and looks for the perfect punch to knockout Gane. The strategy might sound too narrow, but Lewis has proved fight fans wrong by finding the punch he needs.
Contrarily Gane will make this a technical battle using leg kicks, kicks to the body, switch stances, and his sniper jabs. Gane will look to tire Lewis and eventually look to finish him. We are confidently siding with the sizeable favorite in Ciryl Gane and believe he will find a late finish to end this war.
We are paying out triple winnings this week for our fight fans who believe either of the fighters can get the knockout finish. Considering the magnitude and division of this fight, the finish is very likely, and we recommend getting around this awesome promotion.
Prediction- Ciryl Gane by Knockout
