Hello fight fans, welcome back to another edition of our UFC predictions as we look forward to another cracking night of fights. Fight nights are very much underrated and last week was nothing but a testimony to it, an amazing night of some controversial and banger fights. It will be a tough act to follow last week but we’ve got an interesting night ahead of us. We’re heading straight to Houston for UFC 265 after this, so do not miss this fight night. The main event action takes place in the Middleweight division, where two tough men are here to prove why they deserve a seat at the big dog table, so let’s dive right in!
Uriah Hall vs Sean Strickland
Two men meeting at an ideal time in their respective careers who are ready to go to war to determine who deserves a top fight in their journey to UFC gold. Current rank 8 and house name Uriah “Prime Time” Hall’s title shot journey will go through California’s own rank 11 Sean “Tarzan” Strickland.
Uriah Hall entered the UFC through The Ultimate Fighter at “prime time” as a 28-year-old at the pinnacle of his fight career. Uriah was considered the most dangerous fighter on TUF season and he marked a name for himself through 4 consecutive wins including 3 knockouts. Uriah has had a rocky journey in the UFC but regardless he has remained a house name for the brand throughout the years.
He started his UFC journey with two unlucky split decision losses but turned this around with 5 wins in his next 6 to gain back momentum. Uriah has always managed to find a way to win when he is completely counted out in a fight.
Uriah is currently on a strong 4 fight win streak which has seen him knock out former champions Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman. He believes he is a nightmare matchup for the UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, and he has found the momentum needed to get that match.
Uriah is a dangerous striker with immense knockout power, having knocked out 8 opponents out of his 10 victories in the Octagon. He will look to find a highlight knockout this week to make his case for that title fight.
The Tarzan is back to the Octagon this week to show everyone who the king is, of this fight jungle. Sean Strickland entered the UFC as an undefeated talent in 2014 and he had a great run in the Welterweight division which saw him winning 7 fights with 3 finishes.
Sean faced some setbacks against the dangerous Santiago Ponzinibbio and now king Kamaru Usman, but this did not dishearten him. Sean’s biggest career adversity was when he met an unfortunate road accident that kept him out of the fight game for 2 years.
Sean came back to the UFC in 2020 to fight in his new home, the Middleweight division. Sean had a lot of questions to answer after his layoff, but he has impressed fight fans with 3 impressive wins which have set him up for this main event spot against Uriah Hall. Sean is primarily a boxer with an elite ground and submission game to lean on.
Mainly, Sean has caught the eye of the fight fans as an entertaining boxer who will meet you in the center of the Octagon and trade with you. Sean will look to entertain the fans once again this week while finding the knockout needed to chase that title-shot road.
The is set to be a fight full of wild exchanges and eventually, we do see someone getting knocked out here. Uriah will have the cardio advantage here being the more experienced fighter, he is also the better kicker out of the two men.
Uriah will love to implement a classic game plan where he will start slower and time his jabs while picking up the offense in the later rounds to find that knockout. Sean is the more aggressive and offensive fighter, who will look to pressure Uriah and get him out of there in the initial rounds.
We recommend fight fans to tune in this week for this fight as it is going to be a banger. Ultimately, we are siding with the veteran underdog here, as we feel he will be able to take this to the later rounds and find the deadly knockout. This is Uriah Hall’s last run at the title and we think he will make it count this week by getting his hand raised.
Both these men are known finishers, combining for a massive 23 knockouts between them. We are offering our classic promo for fight fans again where we will pay out double winnings if your selection calls it a night before the final bell. We recommend getting around this promotion, especially this week.
