Leon Edwards vs Belal Muhammad
Dateline Vegas, we’re back with another UFC Fight Night card! Not as stacked as last week, but it has some matchups which you can’t look past. In the main event we have Leon “Rocky” Edwards back in action after a 2-year layoff who faces an upcoming brawler in Belal “Remember the Name” Muhammad.
In Leon, you have your typical British boxer whose nickname is extremely symbolic of who he is. Edwards has had one of the best comeback stories in the UFC and he is currently on an 8-fight win streak. He has beaten some of the very best that UFC has to offer in Donald Cerrone and Rafael Dos Anjos with style points.
On the other hand, we have Belal who has burst on the fight scene with his wild brawler fighting style. This is Belal’s biggest fight as he faces his first top 5 ranked opponent. A win over Leon would put Belal on the top of the Welterweight chain.
As they say, styles make fights and none greater than a battle between two strikers. This encounter has Fight of the Night written all over it. We have a technical boxer in Leon and a brawler in Belal who swings for the bleachers.
Leon has a great clinch game, and he is no stranger to going 5 hard rounds in a main event. Whereas Belal is set for his first 5 round encounter in the UFC. You can expect Belal to come hard in the initial rounds and look to finish the fight early. Contrarily, Leon will look to weather Belal’s attack and look to take this fight into the later rounds. Will Belal stay true to his nickname and put his name in lights by beating the third ranked Welterweight? Or does Leon prove the haters wrong and bounce back to continue his dominance? Well, we think Leon’s clinch game and endurance is going to be too much for Belal to keep up with and Leon will drown him in deep waters.
Prediction – Leon Edwards By Decision @ 2.08
Dan Ige vs Gavin Tucker
Another week, another great scrap to look forward to. The 9th ranked Dan “50K” Ige takes on unranked upcoming submission specialist Gavin Tucker. This fight is being overlooked as it does not have the spotlight on it but we recommend tuning into this bout.
Fighting out of the red corner, Dan Ige is a beast. He has gone 5 hard rounds with the Boston finisher Calvin Kattar. He is as well rounded as they come, great chin, good boxing, and cardio for the ages. He welcomed Edson Barboza a run for his money in April 2020 and say his hand being raised after a blood bath.
Fighting out of the blue corner, we have Gavin Tucker who is on a 3 fight win streak beating highly rated contenders. Tucker is a man with sheer will and dedication to be champion one day. He took a 2 year layoff after his first career loss and revamped his fighting style to get the results. Gavin has a variety of skills in his arsenal, from submissions skills, knockout power and good endurance. A win over Ige puts Tucker straight into the top 10.
This fight is a great matchup for fight fans as both the fighters are so well rounded. They can both swing, wrestle and have a blood bath distance fight.
We would give Dan the striking advantage as he has quicker hands than Tucker but don’t overlook Gavin as he has a better submission game. We can see a finish in this fight but won’t be surprised if we see a decision with both of them full of blood. It is going to be an absolute war and both of them are looking to make a statement and get a top 5 fight after a big win over the other. We think the confidence Gavin Tucker has gained by submitting upcoming contenders gives him an edge in this fight. His submission game is going to be a threat for the featherweight division.
